What's New in the FolkLib Index

Since I first went public with my "U.S. First Day Cover Cachet Display Catalog", First Day Cover (FDC) stamp collecting resources on 10-08-2019, I have created over 200 pages of FDC related information.  If you wish to know what new pages I recently installed, the list is at: https://www.folklib.net/fdc/whats-new.shtml , or you can view my complete Site Map at: https://www.folklib.net/fdc/site-map.shtml .

If you already have or would like to link to any of my FDC pages from your FDC related site, please contact me at: henkle@pobox.com , and I will place a reciprocal Thank you link on the page you have linked to, and post a notice of all pages linked to at: https://www.folklib.net/fdc/#Links .

Other notices:
1) My Facebook page got hacked and I had no way of knowing what damage was caused by the intruder, so I permanently deleted my Facebook page.
2) Because of the threat that Elon Musk would soon buy Twitter, I had no idea what damage he would create on the site, so I permanently deleted my Twitter page before the purchase.
Because I very rarely posted anything on either site, I don't miss not having either one.

As for the longevity of my site, initially installed on 11-25-1995, although I turned 82 in September 2023, I will continue maintaining only the First Day Cover stamp collecting part of my site as long as possible.

The Folk File: A Folkie's Dictionary
Created by Bill Markwick (1945-2017)
https://www.folklib.net/folkfile/
A collection of terms related to folk music, plus some mini-biographies, musicology terms, trivia, and miscellaneous facts and figures.

In 2005 Bill Markwick gave me permission to install his previously deleted website on my domain. I am proud to have hosted his creation since then. Sadly, a friend of his informed me that Bill passed away in June. I will continue to host his pages as his legacy. To see Bill perform four songs at a 2012 house concert, see the following at YouTube:

7/23-28/2012 we visited Mountain View, AR, Folk Music Capital of the World. As a result I created new pages at:

We had an absolutely fabulous time and we plan on going back there regularly in the future.

My Facebook page is still inaccessible

http://www.facebook.com/FolkLibraryIndex

Sorry, but my Facebook page is still publicly inaccessible.  The zero response received from my April 29th post and plea for help proves that nobody in the world knows how to make my page public.

How to make Facebook page public?

http://www.facebook.com/FolkLibraryIndex
"This content is currently unavailable - The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page."

Can anyone help me make my page public so everyone can see it?  Now, only those who are logged into their Facebook accounts can see it.  HELP, please!

12-23-2011: My Social Networking Sites

These are the Social Networking sites I maintain and log into only every year or two, so there is no point in my having "friends".  I maintained the 1,000+ page "Folk Library Index", https://www.folklib.net/ until 2021.  I now maintain only the "Cachet Display Catalog", https://www.folklib.net/fdc  Note, I respond to emails sent to "henkle@pobox.com" ONLY.  Any attempt to contact me via this Blog or any of the following will be ignored.

12-07-2011: How to pronounce my Web site's URL and site name

My microphone now works, so I can finally record the word I invented in 1995, "folklib", as a contraction of "Folk Library Index", (https://www.folklib.net/).  Please go to the following for the Official pronunciation of my Web site's URL, and it's short site name, "FolkLib Index":
